　　Professor Wang Zhili got his master degree of clinical endocrinology in Tianjin Medical College in 1987. He was promoted into a senior endocrinologist earlier than most people and became the youngest director of an endocrinology department in the country in 1988. He has worked as Vice-director in Tianjin Heart and Endocrine Laboratory, Director of Department of Endocrinology in Tianjin Secondary Hospital and Chief Commissioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine Combination Treatment Center for Diabetes. As the project leader he has finished four research projects and became certified by official authorities before he went abroad. Afterwards, two of his projects were praised by the government.

　　Invited by Dr. S.R. Bloom who is a world famous endocrinologist and diabetes specialist, Professor. Wang went to the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in 1990. He got his PhD from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, UK in 1995.

　　Professor Wang has published 38 theses in some high quality medical journals and international science conferences in the past 14 years. Of them, five of his scientific research findings were first announced in the world. Professor Wang has proved that many endogenesis regulating peptides play important roles in islet function regulation. His research work has made a great value to diabetes science, diabetes gene therapy and diabetes medication development. One of the top-tier journals 《The Journal of Clinical Investigation》has made a comment on Professor Wang ' s published thesis indicating his research results made a significant progress in the diabetes research field. Xinhua News Agency, People ' s Daily (overseas edition), Xinhuanet , Science and Technology Daily, Health News, Tianjin Daily　have also reported his achievements. CCTV Channel I, Phoenix TV（European site）and Xinhua News Agency had special interviews on him. He was honored to meet with national leaders Mr.Jiang Zemin, Mr.Zhu Rongji, Mr. Li Ruihuan because his brilliant contributions to medical science.
