This clinic measure visual acuity (VA) which is the strength of your sight and is equipped with a name non-mydriatic retinal camera which can take photographs of the back of the eye (retina) to detect any changes of diabetic retinopathy (diabetic eye disease). These investigations will detect any changes which require treatment to preserve sight. The clinic can also diagnose the presence of cataract which may also need treatment. BCDH will provide you with a copy of the retinal photographs to take to an ophthalmologist for treatment; but in the future BCDH hopes to provide this treatment too.
