¡¡¡¡ This department focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of the cardiovascular complications of diabetes, such as coronary heart disease, arrhythmias, conduction defects and heart failure. Continuous blood glucose monitoring systems, 12 lead electrocardiogram machines, Holter EKG systems and multifunction monitors (heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation) esophageal pacemaker are used to monitor patients, especially critically ill patients. The care program for these patients covers both diabetes and heart disease medication, diet, diabetes education, exercise and emergency resuscitation, which is afferent from the treatment programs in seperate Cardiovascular and Diabetes Clinics in a general hospital. The patients in BCDH not only receive high quality level of diabetes care, but are also advised how to prevent diabetes complications.
